How it works

Species-specific primers are short DNA sequences designed to only amplify the DNA of one targeted species. When designed adequately, pairs of species-specific primers can be combined as “kits” to identify several species.

BENEFIT

Interests

  • Cheap (no sequencing)
  • Very fast Technical step (24h)

Species Specific

Limits

  • Relevance limited to initial targeted species/strains
  • Specific-species development
