DNA Barcoding aims to characterise species at the interspecific level, using a short DNA sequence from a standard marker accepted in the genome.

Microsatellites

Microsatellites are hypervariable, neutral and codominant markers used for intraspecific population genetics.

Species-Specific Primers

Species-specific primers are short DNA sequences designed to only amplify the DNA of one targeted species.
